Francesco Frank Caprio, also famous as Frank Caprio, is chief municipal judge in Providence (Rhode Island) and also a television personality. In a television program “Caught in Providence, Judge Caprio work is televised. A video in of the same program went viral on YouTube which gave him international recognition. He also has appeared in a television show “Parking Wars” which deals with traffic violations.
Francesco Frank Caprio was born on 23rd November, 1936 in Federal Hill Providence. His father and mother both families were Italian immigrants. Frank Caprio has 2 brothers. He is American by nationality and belongs to the Democratic party.
Frank Caprio is married to Joyce E. Caprio. Together they have five children and seven grand children. They also have 2 great-grand children.
Judge Caprio went to Providence public school and then graduated from Central High School. He got his bachelor’s degree from Providence College. He started teaching in Hope High School Providence along with studying in Suffolk University School of Law, Boston.
He has taught Civics subject. Then, he joined legal profession. From 1954 to 1960 Frank Caprio served in the National Guard. In 1962, he was elected to Providence City Council and served there for 6 years.
He also has been Delegate to Rhode Island Constitution Convention, Chairman of Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education and Providence Municipal Court Judge.
He owns a law firm and partnership in Coast Guard House Restaurant in Narragansett. He also has established many scholarship funds.
Francesco Frank Caprio holds an Honorary Doctorate degree of Law from Suffolk University Law School (1991) and also Providence College (2008). In 2016, Frank Caprio got another Honorary Doctorate degree from the University of Rhode Island. In 2018, he received an award, Producer’s Circle Award, at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
